Connecting with Our Community - St Mary’s Long Lunch

Eaton Services Group St Marys Long Lunch

On September 14th, our Business Development Manager, Luke, and his wife, Eileen, had the privilege of attending the annual St Mary’s Long Lunch. Set against the backdrop of St Mary's College's beautiful, historic gardens, the event offered a perfect opportunity to connect with our local community and fellow service providers. With live music, chilled drinks, and delicious food, the afternoon was an enjoyable gathering and an occasion to strengthen relationships with those who share our commitment to delivering high-quality services.

Luke and Eileen had the pleasure of meeting with Chris and Kate from Uniform Management Services, Craig and Trudy from Higgins Painting, Lan from the school’s marketing team, and many other amazing supporters. Events like the Long Lunch provide a fantastic platform to connect with people who share our vision of supporting the industries we work in while also recognising the value of collaboration in delivering exceptional services.

Our company was honoured to be acknowledged for our ongoing support of St Mary’s College and this prestigious event. We believe in the importance of giving back to the community, and it was a privilege to contribute to such a well-organised and inspiring day. The Long Lunch underscores the strength of our local network, allowing us to engage with fellow businesses and professionals while celebrating the rich history and values that St Mary’s College upholds.

The day included a heartwarming ceremony where Steph Shannon was awarded the Mercy Medal. This accolade honours a member of the St Mary’s community who embodies the Mercy tradition of social justice, compassion, and integrity. Steph, an alumna from 1945 to 1956, has dedicated her life to helping others as a paediatric nurse, working with Indigenous and non-English-speaking families, and volunteering in various roles, even after retirement. Her selfless contributions have earned her the Order of Australia Medal and the deep admiration of her peers.

It was truly inspiring to witness Steph’s recognition with the Mercy Medal, and we are grateful to have been part of this special day. Events like the St Mary’s Long Lunch offer us the opportunity to celebrate and connect, give back, and support the community that supports us.

Congratulations to Steph Shannon, and we look forward to continuing our involvement with St Mary’s College and the incredible community they foster.
