National Safe Work Month 2024

National Safe Work Month

Safety is Everyone’s Business

At Eaton Services Group, with over 400 dedicated team members across industries like education, industrial, commercial, aged care, and health, workplace health and safety is at the heart of everything we do. As we mark National Safe Work Month this October, we're proud to reinforce our commitment to keeping our fantastic cleaning team safe, healthy, and supported.

Why We Prioritise Safety

Safety isn’t just a policy— it’s a daily practice for our team. From identifying hazards to implementing risk controls, we strive to ensure that everyone working within our sites can do so with confidence. This is why we actively support Safe Work Australia's campaign to foster a safer work environment.

This year’s National Safe Work Month theme, "Safety is Everyone's Business," powerfully reminds us that workplace health and safety isn't just the responsibility of a select few. It's a shared priority across every team member, every department, every site and every task. Good workplace health and safety practices are the backbone of our business and benefit everyone, including our team members, customers, our business, and the communities we support.

Weekly Spotlights for October

Throughout October, the National Safe Work Month campaign will focus on four important WHS topics, which we at Eaton Services Group fully support and will be looking to implement and remind our teams across our operations. Here’s a deeper look at the weekly topics and how we integrate them into our everyday work:

We focus on the basics—proactively identifying hazards, controlling risks, and ensuring our workers are empowered to maintain a safe workplace.

Mental health matters too. This week will highlight how psychosocial risks can affect well-being and performance, emphasising the importance of managing workplace stress.

It’s all about prevention. We will revisit the fundamentals of risk management to ensure our proactive approach keeps hazards at bay.

With MSIs making up half of all serious compensation claims, we will dive into a better understanding of these injuries and how to mitigate the risks across our sites.

Facts You Might Not Know

  • In 2023, 200 workers in Australia were fatally injured at work.

  • In 2022-2023, 139,000 serious workers compensation claims were made.

We’re proud to say our team wasn’t part of these alarming statistics.
