Women’s Health Week

Womens Health Week Eaton Services Group

As we celebrate Women’s Health Week from September 2nd to 6th, we want to remind all the amazing women on our team and in our community to take a moment and focus on yourselves. With over 400 staff members, many of whom are women, it's crucial to address health issues that often go unnoticed.

Key Statistics to Remember - Women's Health Week

  • Breast Cancer: 1 in 7 women in Australia will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime.

  • Heart Disease: Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death for Australian women, making up around 30% of female deaths.

  • Mental Health: 1 in 5 Australian women experience a mental health disorder each year.

  • Osteoporosis: 1 in 2 women over 50 will experience an osteoporotic fracture.

  • Obesity: Nearly 1 in 3 Australian women are classified as obese, raising the risk of chronic diseases.

Make Time for Health Checks and Screenings

As a commercial cleaning organisation with a significant number of female staff, it's important to prioritise health checks and screenings. Regular appointments like Pap smears, mammograms, and bone density tests are essential for early detection and prevention of health issues.

Don’t Forget About Self-Checks

Self-checks, such as monthly breast exams, are a simple way to stay on top of your health. They’re quick, easy, and can be done at home.

Your Mental Health Matters Too

Our work environments in education, aged care, medical, and other sectors can be demanding. It is crucial to take time to manage stress and prioritise mental well-being. Find what helps you relax and recharge, whether it’s a walk, a chat with friends, or simply some quiet time.

Let’s Look Out for Each Other

Women’s Health Week is a great chance to support one another. Please encourage your friends, family, and colleagues to prioritise their health.

Thanks for being such a fantastic team and community. Let’s make our health a priority this week and every week!
